The download link is the large "Download Now" blue banner.

This is a basic battle program. You have flexibility over your stats, and you'll be able to fight a computer opponent. It randomly chooses its stats, so the game will be different every time.

The Help part of the program will explain all that you need to know in order to win your battles.

The download link is at the top. Report any bugs or suggestions here!

Note: Enter only single letters.

If you just defended the whole time except when the opponent ran out of energy, couldn't you win easily?

I prefer this strategy:

Stack attacks, then just keep on attacking. 5 moves and he's dead.

I prefer getting somewhat balanced stats and smashing away with attacks.

Once again, I updated the game. I've found several bugs on my own and have fixed them. One of them included using one energy to heal yourself and losing two, while still only healing yourself by 5. This was fixed in this version.

Something I might change is that you can't heal yourself unless you have one energy to spare. This prevents the player from losing a turn, but I guess they should be smart enough not to spend all of their energy if they wanted that one turn.

If you find ANYTHING that even looks like a bug, please take a picture of it, post it here, possibly tell me what you did, and I might be able to fix it.

I have not tried getting to level 100, so I don't know what the game does at that point. When you get to level 100, you shouldn't be able to go any higher.

I updated the game again with one new command. There is now a healing attack (does 75% of the damage of a regular attack and heals yourself by 1/12 of the damage dealt). I don't know any bugs that could be in this program, but if you run into any, please be specific about what happened. Pictures help. Razz

A newly updated version has been released. This adds some replay value to the game. When you quit the game (or beat the opponent at level 100), you will get some statistics thrown back at you. It will show you lots of data, like how many times you used the Strong Defend command, or how much recoil you took. Try to get to a certain level in the least amount of turns!

I suggest that you change healing attack to drain attack.

Makes more sense.

I'm working on an actual "game" aspect to Text Battle. I can make maps out of letters (using an O for walls, A for the character, etc.), and allow the players to travel through these maps. When you reach the edge of a map, the map adjacent to the one you came from would be loaded.

Instead of adding simple graphics like I said on December 21st, I've rewritten the entire game from scratch. This allowed me to add Speed, lots of different commands (12 in all so far), and overall improve the game. I'll upload the game when I feel I've completed enough for it to be a good game.

I'm planning on adding a Two Player mode. It'll be for you and a friend to play against each other on the same computer.
